BATC Foundation Scholarships

The BATC Foundation is accepting 2017-2018 scholarship applications through February 10, 2017.

The 2017 BATC Foundation scholarship selections will give priority to those seeking to learn a construction related trade. This includes carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and others.

Applicants must:

  • Uphold at least a 2.5 GPA,
  • Be a resident of the Twin Cities Metro Area or plan to locate in the area after graduation
  • Be graduating senior in the spring of 2017 OR be an adult with a high school degree who plans to pursue a career in residential home construction

Award amounts will be determined at the discretion of a special committee.

2016-2017 Scholarship Recipients

  


Luke Klemke

Luke was born and raised in Hastings, MN and has been an active member of the local 512 union ironworkers since 2008. He is employed as a foreman for Reger Companies, a steel subcontractor. Most recently he finished working on the new St. Paul Saints stadium, where he made great strides by advancing the production schedule. Currently he’s working on Metro State University’s parking ramp and student center. He is a senior at the University of Minnesota striving toward his degree in Construction Management with a minor in Management through the prestigious Carlson School of Management. His passions include enjoying a good craft beer and snowboarding in the mountains out west. He is looking forward to graduating next year and currently resides in Minneapolis.

 
   

Tim Rascher

Timis a junior at University of Wisconsin - Stout, majoring in Construction with a Business Administration minor. Tim is from Inver Grove Heights, MN. He grew up in his family’s plumbing business, Rascher Plumbing and Heating. After Tim graduates he wants to either go into the family business or start a residential construction business of his own. Tim’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, and spending time up north. He is very involved in his school and community. Tim plans to graduate in May of 2016.

   

Eddie Kibira

Eddie, the oldest of three siblings, grew up in Minneapolis. He attended Edison High School and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he studied Economics and Entrepreneurship. He was a student athlete at the U of M, competing in track and field and cross country. After graduation he worked in Banking and Technology start-ups for a few years. His passion for construction led him to return to school. He is currently a first year student at Dunwoody College of Technology, pursuing a degree in Construction Management. His passion lies on the intersection of technology and business, and believes that will help him strive in the construction industry. He is currently a Project Engineer Intern at Ryan Companies, applying what he learns in the classroom to the real world.
