This course will discuss where and when engineered lumber products are needed and how they differ from other structural components used to build a home. This course will also explore framing practices for tall walls, foundation plate overhang, cantilevers, and other details to prevent problems now and in the future.


Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognize the proper code compliant framing techniques
  • Identify why code compliant framing techniques are important for our changing construction and code practices 
  • Recognize how engineered lumber products differ from other structural components
